Bulgarian football club Lokomotiv Sofia released midfielder Martin Dimitrov from his contract with a very strange allegation. According to the coach Stefan Genov, Dimitrov chose to go mud bathing instead of playing against champions Ludogorets.
At least that’s what Dimitrov said in an interview with BGsport.bg.
„I knew from the media that I’m released. Later Christian Dobrev (club director) called me and told me Genov is not going to count on me for the future. Genov told Dobrev he wanted me to play in the match with Ludogorets but according to him I refused in order to go mud bathing. This is not something any professional footballer would ever say. I’m hurt because this is my childhood club“, said Dimitrov.
Now he is searching for a new club.
